Here is the content of the proposed amendment:
House Resolution 29 The Right to A Public Education of Equal High Quality (Jesse Jackson Jr. proposed this amendment to the U.S. House of Representatives on 2/13/07)
"Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled (two-thirds of each House concurring therein), that the following article is proposed as an amendment to the Constitution of the United States, which shall be valid to all intents and purposes as part of the Constitution when ratified by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States”:
'SECTION 1. All citizens of the United States shall enjoy the right to a public education of equal high quality.
'SECTION 2. The Congress shall have power to implement this article by appropriate legislation'."
The of ABC's of Literacy Project seeks to promote awareness about adult literacy programs in the St. Louis Metro area. This blog will share upcoming events as well as reflections on our activities.
